Description

Students will learn about the representation of imaginary, mythical, or legendary creatures in folk art. Explain how folklore has inspired artists to represent creatures such as sphinxes, mermaids, dragons, etc. in their art. Students will create their mythical creature, inspired by their surrounding environment.  

The program includes a discovery exercise using 3-6 folk art objects, discussion (Q & A), and an art activity demonstration. 

 Program Duration: 45 minutes
