School Tours at Coronado Historic Site

Students can learn about the daily lives and history of the people who lived in New Mexico before the Spanish came into the area in 1540.

 

Description

Students will tour the remains of Kuaua Pueblo, the Site’s Interpretive Garden, the Mural Room (which contains 14 original kiva murals that were excavated from the village in the 1930s), and the recreated Painted Kiva.

Please be aware that the Kiva is 8 feet underground, and entering it involves climbing a 7 rung and a 14 rung ladder. Due to the available space at Coronado Historic Site, tour groups are limited to a maximum of 50 students.
