Utilize design thinking and engineering skills to address the abundance of non-biodegradable waste in your home, school, and community. Explore how artists and nature recycle when you explore the museum collection and your own backyard. Design and repurpose discarded non-biodegradable materials into a useful object that can raise awareness about the importance of recycling.

The program includes a discovery exercise using 3-6 folk art objects, discussion (Q & A), and art activity demonstration.

Program Targeted to: Grades 3rd-5th

Program Duration: 45 minutes
