Learn about the history of Agriculture in New Mexico, using Los Luceros as an example.

Description

Learn about the history of Agriculture in New Mexico, using Los Luceros as an example. This lesson covers indigenous farming methods (flood plain farming, dry water farming, terraces, canals, etc.), acequias, urban farming and more. The land now called Los Luceros has been used for agriculture for hundreds of years, so it is a great way to show how it has changed (or hasn’t!) over time.

If this program is given virtually, it will include a tour around the farm lands and acequia demonstration during the warmer months.
